Mahalo to Carl Priess for sharing this stunning Aloha Friday Photo! What a gorgeous rainbow arched over the ocean like a bridge of color that’s visible from end to end.
Carl took this photo from Ka’anapali Beach in February 2023 after a storm, which was strong enough to carry this small boat ashore and left it stranded in the sand.
When sharing this photo, Carl pointed out that the shape of the boat mirrors the curve of the rainbow. I’m glad he mentioned that as it made me pause a little longer to take in this scene and to think about the contrast between the storm’s force and the calm and beauty of the rainbow that followed.
Carl also noted, “Maui is rich with photo ops.” Yes, indeed! And we can see that — even in the aftermath of a storm.
