Waikiki Thanksgiving Dining & Events 2021

WaikikiThanksgiving

Waikiki is a very popular destination to visit for the Thanksgiving holiday. While many North American residents will be dressed for chilly weather, Honolulu visitors will be donning swimsuits, shorts and Aloha shirts for Waikiki’s endless summer weather!

Not only will the weather be summer-like, the restaurants will be serving scrumptious Thanksgiving meals. Many of them will have a Hawaiian-spin with local ingredients on their special Thanksgiving menus. It’s a neat blend of traditional Thanksgiving fixings married with Hawaiian cuisine.

Now, if you are one of the lucky ones planning a trip to Waikiki over this Thanksgiving, we’ve created this guide for where to dine and what special events to catch over Thanksgiving weekend.

Know Hawaii’s and Oahu’s COVID Restrictions

Before we get into some of the special Thanksgiving meals and events for the holiday weekend, we want to make sure you know about some of the significant COVID restrictions in Hawaii and Oahu.

First, before you travel to Hawaii, make sure you are fully aware of and follow Hawaii’s travel rules so that you can bypass the 10-day quarantine. Another statewide rule is an indoor mask mandate.

Next, visitors need to be aware of the specific rules that Oahu has for access to restaurants, bars, gyms, museums, concerts, etc. On Oahu, fully vaccinated customers are allowed at restaurants, bars, gyms, museums. Non-vaccinated customers must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within the previous 48 hours. These rules apply to persons age 12 years and up. See this link for more details about these rules.
