@ Kris – ha! I wonder about that connection to July 4th, too.Maybe they’re freedom fighter ducks. The Sheraton Maui did that at Easter, too, but we missed it because we went to Liza’s church for Easter service.

The similarities between smoking in restaurants and fireworks are numerous.

You cannot get away from the smoke
Asthma people are at risk
Increase chances of fires by stupid or careless people

If both of these activities were not an invasion of people’s rights not to be affected by these activities I’d support them both.

I noticed on the Sheraton Maui Resort’s page on Facebook that they’re having a rubber duckie race on the 4th, too. Is this the start of a new trend in Independence Day celebrations?

Wow, what a switch,,, from fireworks to cigarettes in restaurants. Whatever happened to “if you don’t like it, don’t do it”?. You don’t like smoke in restaurants, don’t go to that restaurant. You don’t like what’s on that station, don’t listen to it or watch it. You don’t like what some business makes or does, don’t buy their product. What makes you think we can’t decide for ourselves and that someone else needs to tell us all where to go, what to do, think & say? If you don’t like the smokey little dots in the pacific, or a supposedly free country, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Your honorable sensei; your’e absolutely correct: Twice a year. Let’s deprive our kid’s of generations of tradition and fun because of a few idiots who don’t have a handle on it. Do you know how may cars are on the road out here on these little dots? And do you know how many accidents, fatalaties etc as a result? So, lets just ban driving? Does that make sense? If guys like you had their way none of us would have any fun. people get hurt at rodeos all the time. So, lets ban rodeos.

Twice a year little dots in the middle of the Pacific are filled with smoke and fires increase. Does this make sense to anyone?
