Aloha Friday Photo: Ho’okipa for Honu at Ho’okipa Beach

Mahalo to Bobby Dysert for sharing this neat shot for Aloha Friday Photos.

Bobby took this photo from Ho’okipa Beach on the island of Maui. As you can see, this beach is a popular spot for honu (Hawaiian sea turtles) to rest. It’s a difficult task to try to count them, but I tallied roughly 41 honu in this photo. That’s quite a gathering.

Did you know that the Hawaiian word ho’okipa means hospitality? It’s clear that Ho’okipa Beach offers ho’okipa to honu.

Happy Aloha Friday!
