This week’s Aloha Friday Photos come from our own collection. With tomorrow being the USA’s 250th anniversary, we felt that these photos of the Star-Spangled Banner in Pearl Harbor were appropriate for the occasion.
We took the above shot from the back of the Navy vessel that transports visitors to the USS Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor. If you look closely at the following photo, you can see the U.S. flag on the stern of an identical Navy boat. By the way, I love that the following photo shows one Navy boat heading to the memorial, another vessel returning, the Battleship Missouri Memorial, Ford Island Control Tower, and the USS Arizona Memorial.

Another flag photo from our collection was taken from inside the USS Arizona Memorial. If you’ve been to the memorial, you probably recall that there are several open ceiling cutouts and that there is a tall flag pole that stands centrally above the memorial. In fact, if you look at the photo above, you can see this flag pole.

Happy Aloha Friday!
