Hawaii travel news: July 14, 2021

– Please don’t make the news for what these folks did for disturbing endangered Hawaiian Monk Seals. These seals don’t come to the shoreline to be petted or for selfies. They come there to rest! If you are lucky enough to see a monk seal in Hawaii, please keep a distance of at least 50 feet (16 meters) and more than that, 150 feet, if you see a mom and pup. – A lot of people must be “missing the boat” to the USS Arizona Memorial. We’ve seen repeated messages from Pearl Harbor National Memorial social media channels. If you’re planning to visit this memorial, see this post and check the national park’s Facebook page for updates and advice.

– There’s a new attraction at Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki. It’s an immersive  4D cinema experience. See this link for more information.

– Beginning July 15, 2021, Hawaii opens to pre-tested travelers from South Korea’s Incheon International Airport as well as travelers on Philippine Airlines.
