The 5-star Princeville Resort will undergo a substantial renovation and be re-branded as a St. Regis hotel. The Princeville will become the only prestigious St. Regis property on the Hawaiian Islands.
“Starwood has recommended that the hotel be a St. Regis because of the quality of the golf courses, the overall beauty of Princeville, and history of service and reputation of the hotel,” Vieira said.
The upgrade will include the addition of a spa, to which I say with my most refined and poshest accent, “Wooohooo!” 😉 This article also states that there might be a celebrity chef restaurant also in the works. I’m happy to hear that news as well. The setting of the main restaurant, the Cafe Hanalei, in the resort is absolutely jaw droppingly stunning, however the food selection left something to be desired, in my opinion.
If you are planning a trip to the Princeville in the coming year, you should probably be aware of the possibility of construction.
There is no timetable for the renovation, but Starwood executives say the hotel will remain open throughout construction, which may start within the next year.
Hopefully rates will reflect the inconvenience of the construction.
