If you are searching for special Christmas Eve and Christmas Day events in Maui, you’ll find a nice assortment of things to do – from Christmas catamaran dinner cruises to buffet spreads. I’ve been searching far and wide for special Maui Christmas events, dinners, and buffets on Maui and here’s what I’ve collected for you so far:

Christmas Eve – December 24, 2007

  • Candlelight worship service under the stars will be presented on the courtyard grounds of the Kaanapali Beach Hotel. The non-denominational Christian service begins at 9:30pm. The worship service will include songs and hula.
  • The shops of Wailea will have a Keiki Christmas show with Hawaiian melodies from 4pm to 5:30pm in the Lower Courtyard. For more on this event and others at the Shops of Wailea, click here.
  • Per the Maui Visitors Bureau, Santa Claus arrives on Maui by Hawaiian outrigger canoe on Wailea Beach. For more information, contact the Fairmont Kea Lani at 808-874-4100.

Christmas Day – December 25, 2007

  • Celebrate “Joy to the World” with a special Christmas brunch cruise offered by the Pacific Whale foundation. This cruise combined with brunch sets off on a catamaran from Lahaina Harbor at 11am and returns at 1pm. The cost is $89.95 for adults and $49.95 for children ages 3 – 12. Taxes and fees are extra.   • In the evening, the Pacific Whale Foundation is offering a Christmas Sunset Dinner Cruise. The dinner menu includes all the traditional turkey and trimmings plus well-drinks. The cost is $129.95 per adult and $59.95 for children ages 3 – 12. The cruise leaves from Lahaina at 5:30pm and returns at 7:30pm. For reservations call 1-808-249-8811, extension 1.
  • If you’d rather just have sunset appetizers, then consider the Christmas sunset and appetizer “Casual Cruise” also offered by the Pacific Whale Foundation. Appetizers and choice of beer, wine, and Mai Tais are included. The cruise leave Maalea Harbor at 5pm and returns at 7pm. Prices are $79.95 for adults, $49.95 for children ages 3 – 12.   • The Kaanapali Beach Hotel will offer a Christmas buffet lunch and dinner with over 60 items including Christmas goose, lamb chops, turkey, and seafood. Santa is scheduled to be there. The cost is $46.95 for adults and $20 for children ages 6 – 12. Lunch will be served from 11am to 1:30pm and dinner seating begins at 3pm and ends at 7pm. For more information, see this link.

Other Holiday On-Going Events

  • The Maui Ocean Center will introduce you to interesting fishes with holiday names during the Twelve Days of FISH-mas.
  • In the evenings, see the famous Lahaina banyan tree lit up with thousands of lights in historic Lahaina town.
  • The Lahaina Cannery Mall has several free hula and musical performances with a holiday theme. You can find the full list of what’s going on here.
