As Sharon’s photo shows, it’s a delightful luxury to book an oceanfront or ocean view room when you stay Waikiki Beach. When you travel such a long distance to Hawaii, ideally you want to be able to see the ocean as much as possible.
We particularly like the hotels that are literally on the beach because Waikiki can be a bit noisy. For more peace and quiet, we recommend choosing an ocean front room in the beach front hotels. Depending on your location, you might even get to enjoy the sounds of the ocean and the breeze blowing through the palm trees, too. Ahhhhh….

We have stayed in several Waikiki hotels that are directly across Kalakaua Avenue from the beach. Those hotels can be the next best option to maximize ocean views. Our only caution with those hotels, is that we do notice noise from busy Kalakaua Avenue. Still, we try to ignore the noise and enjoy the view. 🙂 Here’s a pro tip: if you are a light sleeper like me, bring earplugs.
