After temporary Kona airport closure, check your flights to/from KOA for potential disruptions

Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport (KOA)

Yesterday afternoon, flights in and out of Kona (KOA) on Hawaii’s Big Island were halted due to a crack in the runway. The cracks are believed to have been caused by recent heavy rain.

As of this morning, runway repairs are complete and flights are back in progress. If you are flying in or out of KOA in the next few days, the Hawaii Tourism Authority recommends that you check with your airline for potential disruptions.
