Chris -- you must be able to tolerate mosquito bites better than I do. If we'd continued on without mosquito repellent, we'd probably have needed blood transfusions. As it was, we already had the most mosquito bites we'd ever gotten.

Aloha,

I offer vacation assistance on the Hawaiian Islands to folks who might otherwise stay at a five star Hotel but opt instead for the Luxury Villa.
With a Butler on hand, your rental car would be packed with cold bottled water, lunch and of course, mosquito repellent.
Thanks for coming to visit these beautiful Islands!
Mahalo,
Erik

Dave - it was bound to happen eventually. Our lessons were learned. :) We still get one or two mosquito bites with each visit to Hawaii, but nothing like that Kauai experience. We joke that we must come home with at least one bite to prove we've been to Hawaii. ;)

Yeah, Manoa Falls trail is very mosquito infested. I wouldn't last a minute on it without mosquito repellent. :)

Awww... Bummer!

I hiked to Manoa Falls a few times on Oahu which is pretty much infested with mosquitoes. The last time I went - The parking lot attendant had a king-sized bottle of mosquito repellent on display and he was more than happy to share it, for free with anyone who wanted it. (I think he was doing it for tips.) Anyway - I thought it was a cool thing to do and I gave the guy a good tip.
