Happy July 4th
If you can’t be in Hawaii to watch fireworks this year, then I hope you’ll enjoy this photo of Pele’s natural fireworks as lava flows to the ocean on the Big Island.
Before I head off for the holiday weekend, I thought I’d leave you with an old school joke that came to mind. Did you hear about the girl who ate fireworks for breakfast? Her hair came out in bangs.

This photo is one of our favorites from the last trip to the Big Island. I love how you can see bits of the surface flow along with the distant lava flow into the ocean. I’m such a volcano nerd.
