Another Reason to Visit Hawaii - Fresh Pineapple
If you’re a fan of Hawaii’s pineapple, there’s sad news today. Maui Land & Pineapple Co. Inc., the state’s last producer of canned pineapple, said yesterday it will end its fruit canning operations June 30.
A moment of silence, please.
The move comes as Hawaii faces competition from cheaper suppliers such as Costa Rica and Mexico.
Still, now you have an excuse to visit Hawaii - it’s the only way to taste fresh Hawaiian pineapple!
