Hawaii Vacation News Roundup for October 8th

Posted on Mon, Oct 8, 2007 by Sheila

General Hawaii

  • It’s Ironman race week in Kailua-Kona on the Big Island!  The actual race is Saturday, October 13th.  Can you imagine swimming 2.4 miles, biking 112 miles and running 26.2 miles?  Mucho kudos to the athletes!
  • Considering a destination wedding?  There’s a new web site Destination Wedding Style that may be a good resource for you.  I noticed several articles with Hawaii ties, such as this one on insiders tips for a Big Island wedding.
  • Whoa, the Hawaii Superferry is losing $650,000 per week while it can’t operate.  That’s a big chunk of change!  At the moment, the courts are trying to decide if the ferry can operate while the environmental impact is being studied.  We may hear the ruling on that this week.
  • The Ventura County Star lists three cruising trends.  The first trend is that overall Hawaii is not as in demand as it once was and as such the Pride of Hawaii will be ducking out in February.

Hi Debo Hobo – I’m glad you think so. If I remember correctly, you’re headed to Hawaii soon, aren’t you?
