Aloha Friday Photo: From Kauai’s Kilauea Point

Mahalo to Bridget Van Lare for sharing this beautiful Aloha Friday Photo.

Bridget’s photo was taken from the Kilauea Point viewing area on the north shore of Kauai. As you can probably gather, this spot is picturesque and not to be missed as you explore Kauai.

Not only can you see the northernmost lighthouse in Hawaii, but you can also observe several species of coastal birds. We’ve seen the endangered nene here many times. So do take care of where you’re parking, walking, etc. when you are here.As winter approaches,

Kilauea Point is a great spot to look for humpback whales. The season peaks between January and March.

You can take in this view from a small parking area without a fee. If you’d like to explore further and see/tour the lighthouse, you can reserve and purchase tickets in advance.

Happy Aloha Friday!
