* TravelZoo reports a deal on the Sheraton Kauai for $168 per night through April 9. I checked around and this was the absolute lowest price I could find. Travelocity was reporting $189 and Expedia’s best rate was $210. (Click here to see this deal as well as a list of other Hawaii hotel deals.) The Sheraton Kauai is located in the sunny Poipu area of Kauai, which is a particularly good place to stay this time of year to avoid rain.
* Just a reminder, if you are still suffering from Hawaii Airfareaphobia after last year’s fearful fares, there’s hope for a full recovery. I’m still finding excellent fares that have me wanting to hop on a plane and head to paradise. Say no to airfareaphobia, and check fares from your hometown airport to Hawaii. Kayak, AirfareWatchdog, Farecompare are all good search tools. In addition TripAdvisor has just rolled out a handy dandy search tool that has one of my favorite seat finder tools, SeatGuru, integrated.
* There’s a brand new luau, the Waikiki Starlight Luau, offered at the Hilton Hawaiian. One aspect of this luau that I particularly like the sounds of is that the Polynesian show is performed a “stage in the round where every seat promises a great view.” The luau boasts four Samoan fire-knife dancers as well as a unique rooftop garden setting. This luau is offered Sunday through Thursday starting at 5pm and costs $95 for adults and $47.50 for children ages 4 – 11. If you want to sit closest to the stage, you can upgrade for just $4 more. The cost includes shell lei greeting, mai tai punch, dinner buffet, and the Polynesian show. Taxes and gratuity are not included.

Yeah, I subscribe to the feed from Homespun Honolulu, and when I saw the March Carnival come out, I let out an audible D'oh!
I really like my excuse this time, though. We were on vacation, in Maui none-the-less. :)

I think what Evelyn does with the Carnival of Aloha is so wonderful, I'd be very fortunate to be included. I just need a blog alarm clock to remind me when it gets closer. :)
