Mahalo to Rochelle Grantz for sharing this lovely Aloha Friday Photo.
Rochelle’s photo was taken at Reeds Bay in Hilo on Hawaii’s Big Island. Though a it’s a small beach park, Reeds Bay is quite scenic as you can tell.
You can find this bay off of the beautiful Banyan Drive in Hilo. As the name suggests, this road is adorned with many banyan trees. This picturesque drive also encompasses a golf course and Lili’uokalani Gardens. It’s definitely worth at least a drive by, but if you can take the time to stop, you can better enjoy the lush scenery.
Should you be in Hilo this Saturday, you will find a beautiful celebration of the life and legacy of Queen Lili’uokalani at her namesake garden. One of the most beautiful features of the Queen Lili’uokalani’s Festival is a mass hula performance while thousands of floral blossoms are dropped from a helicopter!
Happy Aloha Friday!
