Hawaii travel news: Maui drops 2nd COVID tests upon arrival, Manoa Falls Trail to reopen

– Maui County announced their plans to end their post-arrival, rapid, COVID tests for trans-Pacific travelers at Kahului Airport per the Maui News. These tests will no longer be conducted starting Friday, June 4, 2021. This rapid, antigen testing program started May 4, 2021. Through Monday, 92,963 tests had been conducted and of those tests, only five ended up yielding a positive PCR test.

– Please note that at this point in time trans-Pacific travelers, whether vaccinated or not, are required to take a pre-travel test to travel to the state of Hawaii and bypass quarantine. See hawaiicovid19.com/travel for all the latest requirements.

– Oahu’s Manoa Falls Trail is due to reopen on June 5, 2021 per the DLNR. The trail closed in 2019 for trail safety improvements. Manoa Falls Trail is one of our favorites on Oahu.
