Big Island See & Do

Take me there Tuesday: Hawaii Tropical Botanical/Bioreserve Garden

Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden is such a delight to visit and one of our favorite places in Hawaii. Since our first visit to this garden back in 2010, we’ve been back a few more times and it never grows old.

This Hawaii (Big) Island garden is located about nine miles north of Hilo off of the Four Mile Scenic Drive

.

Under a canopy of exotic trees, the garden trails lead to flower collections, waterfalls, a birdhouse and to scenic Onomea Bay. (This link provides a more detailed overview of the trails and areas.) It’s all so peaceful.

Around every bend, flowers, plants, trees and scenery catch your eye. With surprising colors, textures and shapes, it’s a visual paradise.

There is an admission to visit. At last check, tickets cost $30 for adults and $22 for children ages 6 to 12. See this link to check pricing.

We normally visit the garden when we’re driving our popular Kona to Hilo sightseeing route.

If you like gardens, this one is certainly worth a visit. If you can’t go there soon, you can virtually tour it with our short video visit:
