Hawaii travel news: January 26, 2022

– After a bit of a delay from his original plan, on Monday, January 24th, Maui’s Mayor Victorino implemented a change to the definition of fully vaccinated to include boosters if the person is eligible for a booster. This rule applies to patrons choosing indoor restaurants, bars, gyms, etc. in Maui County, which consists of the islands of Lanai, Molokai and, of course, Maui. For more information on these new Maui rules, see this link. (Incidentally, Mayor Victorino tested positive for COVID on January 25th, according to news reports. We wish him a speedy recovery!)

– Thankfully, it appears that Hawaii’s recent surge of COVID-19 cases has begun to steeply trend downwards per the latest data.

– Costco Travel has a great deal for the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa that includes five nights for the price of four nights, daily breakfast buffet for two and waived daily resort fee. We really like this resort a lot, as you can read from our review.

– Hawaiian Airlines continues to pop up with some limited-time sales. Their current fare sale starts at $99 one-way. See this link for their current deals.
