Celebrating July 4th in Hawaii

We always say that Hawaii knows how to celebrate a holiday and this fourth of July will be no exception. Independence Day celebrations in Hawaii include patriotic parades and fireworks, of course. In addition to those traditional events you’ll also find celebrations that are very unique to Hawaii, such as the juvenile honu (turtle) release ceremony at Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and the fundraiser rubber duckie race at the Kings’ Shops in Waikoloa — both on Hawaii Island. You might also catch some of Hawaii’s top musicians performing at July 4th events across Hawaii.

Major fireworks shows are scheduled on all four of the major islands — Oahu, Maui, Kauai and Hawaii’s Big Island. Hawaii’s biggest fireworks display will be hosted by Ala Moana Center at Ala Moana Beach Park on Oahu. Attendance for that show is anticipated to be over 50,000 people this year!

If the beautiful islands of Hawaii are your destination for July 4th, we’ve put together our popular lists of what to see and do along with useful tips. We’ve organized our lists by island as follows:

Oahu July 4th Fireworks and Celebrations

Maui July 4th Fireworks and Celebration

Hawaii, the Big Island July 4th Fireworks and Celebrations

Kauai July 4th Fireworks and Celebration

After you review these island lists, let us know which event you will be or  you’d most like to attend.
