Hawaii Vacation News Roundup for October 11th

Can today’s vacation news possibly top the arrival of the humpback whales?  I’m not sure, but I’ll give it a shot.  🙂

  • Lava hasn’t been flowing to the ocean in months, but this article says that in about “a month or two”, the lava may be flowing to the sea again.  I wonder if this is just speculation, wishful thinking, or scientifically forecasted?  Only Madame Pele knows for sure.
  • Another nugget from the article referenced above is that there is a 2.5 hour catamaran tour that takes you along 20 miles of the Big Island’s coastline.  You can see over 50 waterfalls.  (Waterfalls?  Yes, please!)  Here’s a link to the Lava Ocean web site where you can find more information on the their tours.
  • Ever heard of Queen’s Bath in Kauai?  Here’s an in depth article about this natural lava bed pool in Princeville
.  (Don’t forget to bring your mosquito repellant if you go.  We got attacked by mosquitos while we were headed through the wooded area to Queens Bath.)

  • I love whale season! Sometimes we can see them from the plane as we're flying over.

  • I'm glad that I was able to see a whale the last time I went whale watching :)
