Hawaii travel brief

We have some gentle reminders in today’s Hawaii travel brief.

– Maui News recently published an article on the current state of Lahaina recovery. For anyone planning a visit to Maui, I’d encourage you to read it to get an understanding of how difficult it has been and continues to be for those who were affected by the August 8th fire. One aspect, in particular, that I felt was worth highlighting is that repetitive questions from tourists about that tragic day are not helpful. While the tourists likely have kind intentions, the questions only bring back reminders of this incredibly traumatic event.

– Recent news

of a woman riding the back of a distressed humpback whale has been disturbing. We should always give wildlife their space.
