Mahalo to Beth Rood for sharing this beautiful sunset photo with us for Aloha Friday Photos. She took this photo while visiting Waikiki Beach in August. The palm tree and sailboat silhouettes in contrast with the extraordinary golden sky all combine for a one-of-a-kind sunset moment at the end of a wonderful day on Oahu.

<sigh>

Happy Aloha Friday!

  1. Looks fantastic , my wife and I are spending 17 days there from the 9th Sept till the 26th staying at HHV for 10 days, followed by the 7 day P.O.A. Cruise.
    This is our holiday of a lifetime as we have both just retired, we have followed Shiela Beal,s weekly blog religiously for the last few months ,
    She has been a fantastic source of information and comment and we cannot thank her enough .
    Long may she continue for others.
    Slightly worried about the weather right now though?.

    1. Aloha Joe and mahalo for reading and the very kind words!!

      The typical dry weather patterns for this time of year in Hawaii have been thrown off significantly by the unusual number of tropical storms in the region. I’d expect you’ll have quite a bit of sunny weather. It may feel a bit humid though. From our experience last year, we visited after a tropical storm skimmed past the islands and the storm messed up the normal tradewinds that keep you from feeling the humidity.

      While you’re staying on Oahu, if you have a rainy day, check out these suggestions to enjoy the day: https://www.govisithawaii.com/2011/10/20/fun-things-to-do-on-a-rainy-day-in-oahu/

      We hope you have a fantastic time. After you get back home, please let us know how you liked your visit.
