Hawaii travel news: April 20, 2022

* Passengers are no longer required to wear face masks when flying to and from Hawaii on a domestic flight. Of course, if a passenger prefers to wear a mask, they are welcome to do so. For reaction on this new rule change, see this Hawaii News Now segment

.

* As Earth Day, April 22, is coming up, we’d like to bring the Malama Hawaii program to your attention. Malama means give back. This program offers volunteer opportunities that encourage visitors to care for Hawaii in some very meaningful ways. Some examples include beach clean ups, restoring culturally and historically significant sites, planting trees, etc. Some Hawaii resorts offer special discounts to guests who participate in Malama Hawaii. You can review those opportunities here
