Aloha Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa!

I love my job as your trusted Hawaii vacation advisor. Here’s one of the newest reasons I adore my work – the folks at Disney have invited us out to the Grand Opening of their first Hawaii resort and spa, the Aulani

! This new 21-acre Aulani resort is located in Ko Olina on the western (leeward) side of Oahu.

We don’t plan on keeping this experience to ourselves. We want to try to bring you along as much as we can with photos, videos and posts on facebook and the blog.

Please let me know if you have any questions about Aulani . I’ll do my best to answer them while I’m there.

Update: see our full written Aulani review.

  • Looking forward to seeing what this beautiful looking place is all about...

    ...have a great time there!!

    Nancy & Shawn

P.S. We're just curious about how people like staying there compared to Waikiki... are they feeling to far from the action, loving the seclusion, etc.?

    • N & S

Aulani doesn't really feel far from action at all. The resort has so much to offer that you really have to pry yourself away from it.

There's a couple other resorts nearby, so you don't feel too secluded.

  • Ciao Sheila !!
LUCKY you !! What a marvellous experience !!
Can't wait to read all about it !!
    WHEN are you going ?
As much as we LOVE beautiful Hawaii , Marco and I are also fond of Disney parks in Florida , in California, in France !!
So we are really curious about this new Disney resort !!
Will it be "truly" Hawaiian ? Will the ALOHA spirit "live" in that resort ?
You can tell that I am afraid that Disney and Hawaii are so different ...
I'm so looking forward to reading your opinion !!!!
    Love from Milano , laura

    • Aloha our Milano friends,

We just got back from Aulani yesterday.

To answer some of your questions, we definitely thought that Aulani was Hawaiian. They feature a lot of Hawaiian art. Everyone says Aloha. They even have a restaurant/bar where Hawaiian is spoken first.

Disney characters are there, but Hawaii and Hawaiian culture is featured much more prominently.

I'll write more about our stay soon.
