I love coming across any old video clips and anything retro related to Hawaii. Here’s a recent video find from a 1952 news clip that was most likely mainlanders first introduction to the islands of Aloha. The clip begins by saying, “The News Magazine visits Hawaii, the U.S. territory at the crossroads of the Pacific, which may become the 49th State.” Though the history is a bit polarized, it’s still very interesting to see and hear this perspective of Hawaii just seven years before the territory became the 50th State.
