When you take the family on vacation and spend every moment together, you’d like a break, right? The good news is that you can find many great day camp vacation programs across Hawaii. These programs are designed to be both fun and educational. While the kids are playing, making crafts, and learning about Hawaiian culture and sea life, mom and dad can be getting a top notch spa treatment or playing on a world class golf course.
Most kid club programs are set up for children aged five to 12 years old. You can find full and half day as well as night programs and can include meals. In general, the kids clubs are operated by the bigger hotel resorts in Hawaii. Although a few resorts open their kids club to the public, the vast majority of them are only offered to hotel guests. I’ll make note of the kids programs that are open to the general public.
Here are some examples of kids programs that you can find across Hawaii:
Oahu
Waikiki’s Hilton Hawaiian Village Children’s Program – Since this resort was recently named a top family beach resort by Parents Magazine in 2008, they’re bound to have a good kids club. Kids enjoy either full or half-day programs including activities like fish feeding, supervised swimming and visits to the zoo, aquarium, and museums and more. Price start at $60 per child and vary based on full or half-days and excursions.
Big Island
Hilton Waikoloa Village Kids’ Camps – This resort offers day and night camps for kids. So, if mom and dad want a to have a romantic dinner on Friday and Saturday, the night camp that runs from 5:30pm to 9:30pm would work out perfectly. The charge for day camp starts at $60 per child and the night camp starts at $60. When there’s availability, they open these camps for families staying outside the resort, though a higher fee applies.
Maui
Westin Kids Club is open to the public, though guests of the Kaanapali Westin and Sheraton get a price break. They also have an evening program operated every night from 6:00pm to 10:00pm. Prices start at $45 for a half day.
Kauai
Kalapaki Beach Club at the Kauai Marriott is open to both guests of the Kauai Marriott as well as those staying outside the resort. They offer very flexible child care programs including an option for hourly care. They offer half-day, full-day, and evening options starting at $35.

Turtle Bay Resort on Oahu's North Shore also is a great place for a traveling family. We (Paradise Baby Co.) deliver baby equipment to families staying at the resort often and have only heard great things from the parents.
