, I’ve been virtually following the 2009 Samoan fire knife dancing championships. This exciting contest is held annually in Laie, Oahu at the Polynesian Cultural Center . This year’s World Champion is Mikaele Oloa from Waialua, Oahu. Thanks for the great coverage Shiela. PCC had over 1,200 new twitter followers from the event in 24 hours including a lot of media. We just launched PCC's new special event and news blog last week as well which links to their facebook and linkedin accounts.
The 17th Annual Fireknife Championship was a big success, all of the dancers (from Samoa, Hawaii, mainland, Guam, Japan, French Polynesia) were very skilled, making the job for the judges very difficult.
