Happy July 4th

If you can’t be in Oahu to watch fireworks this year, then I hope you’ll enjoy this photo of Pele’s natural fireworks as lava flows to the ocean on the Big Island.

Before I head off for the holiday weekend, I thought I’d leave you with an old school joke that came to mind. Did you hear about the girl who ate fireworks for breakfast? Her hair came out in bangs. 🙂 Happy Independence Day!

  • Hi HVG - Thanks!

This photo is one of our favorites from the last trip to the Big Island. I love how you can see bits of the surface flow along with the distant lava flow into the ocean. I'm such a volcano nerd. :)
