Dr. Beach has just announced his 2007 list of the America’s Best Beaches. The two Hawaiian beaches earning honors in the top 10 are:
Ocracoke Lifeguarded Beach on North Carolina’s Outer Banks topped the list. (Yay for NC!) My favorite Hawaiian beach at Fleming Beach Park in Maui didn’t make this year’s list, though it was tops in 2006.
Dr. Beach, Dr. Stephen P. Leatherman, uses fifty different criteria and evaluated over 650 beaches across the USA to develop his list. Count me as one who is jealous of his job. 🙂
