Aloha Friday Photos: At water’s edge of Punalu’u black sand beach

. This is a great shot of the black sand of Punalu’u Beach on the southern side of Hawaii, the Big Island. The wet sand at the water’s edge seems luminous despite being so dark. It’s an amazing sight you almost have to see for yourself to believe.

Here’s what Wendy told us,

We visited the black sand beach on our last day on the island. I wish we had had time to relax on the sand or swim in the water. It was still beautiful, though.

Yes, it is a beautiful beach!
