The following list is from 2011 for reference purposes only.

Beautiful Kauai will be abuzz with fun July 4th celebrations. In Kauai, you’ll find the all-American traditional ways to celebrate July 4th along with a splash of Aloha!

Kauai will host a couple of excellent community events filled with local Hawaiian entertainment, food, games, and of course, fireworks. Here’s what’s going in Kauai on July 4th, 2011:

22nd Annual Concert in the Sky

At the Vidinha Soccer Field in Lihue, you’ll find games, delicious food, excellent live Hawaiian entertainment and a huge fireworks show. This year’s entertainers include Na Leo, The Quake, Ivo Monroe Miller, Kimo & Kaiulani and Ori Uvira Tahitian dance troupe.

Gates open a 4pm. As this annual July 4th event is a fundraiser for Kauai Hospice, a nominal ticket fee is charged. Advanced tickets are $10 for adults; $5 for keiki (children) ages 6 – 12 years; children under 5 are free. Pre-sale tickets are available until July 3rd at all Big Save Markets, Menehune Food Marts and at Kauai Hospice. On July 4th, tickets at the gate cost $15 for adults and $7 for keiki ages 6 – 12 years. Vidinha Soccer Field is located by Vidinha Stadium in Lihue. For more information call (808) 245-7277.

Kekaha 4th of July Celebration

Note: This 2011 event was canceled without notice. Please be wary for future events.
The small, western Kauai town of Kekaha will be hosting their fourth annual July 4th celebration. This all-day event begins with a morning fun run/walk at 6am. If that’s a bit too early for you, then you’ll find games, local Hawaiian entertainment  and keiki rides beginning at 10am. This July 4th celebration will top off with a festive fireworks display after dark.

This year’s event will include Hawaiian craft booths and cultural demonstrations. Also, to honor the sugar cane history of this small town, a  Kekaha plantation mini-museum will be on display.

You’ll find all this Kekaha fun at H.P Faye Park – across the Kekaha Neighborhood Center. (For directions, see this Google Map

.) Admission is free. For more information, see this link.

  • There is no celebration set up in Kekaha. I'm here now and it's a ghost town. Bummer.

  • There is nothing happening right now at kekaha. Very disappointed I drove out for this.

    • Oh no, daniel! I'm very disappointed to hear that happened to you.

The Kekaha community would have been in their fourth annual event for this year. They advertised on facebook and even the official Hawaii and Kauai visitors bureau listed their event for this year: http://www.gohawaii.com/kauai/events/internal/33011408

I have no idea what happened here.

I hope you were able to have an enjoyable evening despite this disappointment.

      Thanks for letting me know.

      • That's ok, I know it's not your fault. But can you update this post so that if the town has an event next year that people will know to be wary since it was canceled this year without notice?

        • Daniel -- yes, absolutely. I'll update it immediately after responding to this comment.

I've been bothered all day that they canceled without an announcement.

Thank you again for letting me know.

        • Thank you again. For what it's worth, we're having a fabulous time here on the island! This hasn't affected us in the least since everything else here has been so perfect! :)

  • daniel -- great to hear you are enjoying your Kauai time despite the unfortunate hiccup. Enjoy the rest of your stay on that beautiful island!
