The Hawaii Tourism Authority created a series of nice videos aimed at helping visitors understand the dos and don’ts of cultural etiquette plus caring for the land and ocean.
The videos are very brief at under a minute-long. So, you don’t have to commit much time in order to learn useful tips from local experts. Plus, you get to enjoy lovely scenery from Hawaii at the same time.
The follow series of videos apply statewide:

Don't make fun of Poi. I know it doesn't taste good, but it's also part of their culture. In Hawaiian culture, the taro plant is associated with Haloa, the god who represents the original ancestor of the Hawaiian people and is symbolized by the taro plant (called kalo in Hawaiian).
All I said is that it would taste better with garlic.
It is quite overwhelming to look at the information. Our daughter has gifted us with a 3 night stay in Maui for my husband(70) and myself(68) Jan. 12 - 14, 2021. Then she, her husband, 2 young daughters and our youngest daughter (28) will be joining us. She will be attending a medical convention there. (Jan. 15 - 23, 2021) We are not wanting to do anything strenuous. We would like to see special sights during our 3 days particularly. Once the kids & grandkids are there, I will spend time with them while my husband will fish & golf with our son in law. We may do something in the evenings with our family as a whole. I have always heard about the Polynesian Culture Center, a luau, Dole Pineapple Plantation & the U.S.S. Arizona, but I am sure there are man other attractions. I have always wanted to see the Culture Center, but understand it is not on Maui. I would like to know how expensive it would be to visit and what is available on Maui. My husband does not like the beach so I am seeking alternative things to do with him, especially during our 3 days, especially involving seeing or doing things that involve experiencing Hawaii. Our reservations are at he Marriot Maui Ocean Club for the three days then in a suite at the Ka'anapali Beach Resort in Maui for 8 days.
Could you help me.
Sincerely,
Maria Davis

Polynesian Cultural Center, Dole Plantation and USS Arizona Memorial are not on Maui. They're on Oahu.
