Mahalo to Mary Gonzalez for sharing her beautiful photo of Waikiki with us for our Aloha Friday Photo series.
Mary said that this view of Waikiki will be a memory that will stay forever. I bet many of us can relate.
I believe Mary took this photo from the view at the top of Le’ahi, which is more commonly called Diamond Head. To see this view, you must take the Diamond Head hike. The hike is not too terribly long at about 1.6 miles round-trip, but it will certainly get your heart pumping with lots of stair steps towards the top. Your effort is rewarded with this sweeping view of Waikiki and Honolulu. We recommend you take this hike early in the morning for cooler temperatures and less people.
