The location
Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa spans twenty-two beautiful, oceanfront acres in South Maui. The resort’s prime, peninsula location sits between Ulua Beach on the north and Wailea Beach on the south.

South Maui tends to be sunnier as compared to other areas on Maui. This aspect can be particularly important during winter months when a tad more rain refreshes the island. Though there are no guarantees, Wailea is a better bet for sunnier winter days.
The Wailea resort area as a whole makes a great base for a Maui vacation. The snorkeling is fantastic. You’ll find excellent shopping at The Shops of Wailea
and superb dining in and around the Wailea resort hotels — all within walking distance.The rooms
Wailea Beach Marriott Resort offers 544 rooms and suites, though at first glance, you’d never guess there are that many rooms. No building is taller than a coconut tree.
The beds were very comfortable. I made a comment about how comfortable they were to a member of staff. She told me that all the matresses have recently been replaced.
The tiled floor were a little different than most carpeted rooms in Hawaii. It forced us to live more like a local and slip off our shoes before entering the room. Otherwise, we tracked in grit and dirt. Housekeeping did a nice job of cleaning and mopping the floors daily.
We were assigned to a room with two queen beds so we didn’t have a sitting area. From photos I’ve seen the rooms with king beds have a sitting area, which would be more desirable for couples seeking romance.
The lanais were well-sized and included a table and two chairs.
Rooms are equipped with a mini-refrigerator.

The amenities
Wailea Beach Marriott Resort offers five pools with three of them having water slides. There’s a pool for everyone here — from playful kids to serenity seekers.
The infinity pool is stunning. We’d love to come back here during humpback whale season (January – April) to spend a lazy day floating near the infinity pool edge while whale watching. On a scale of one to ten, that would be awesome!
The resort offers a business center and a fitness center. There was a nice selection of shops and most days local artists and crafters set up displays.
The resort hosts a luau four nights per week. They have a permanent stage with the beautiful Pacific ocean and sunsets being the backdrop. We did not have the opportunity to go to their luau, but the setting looked ideal.
Mandara Spa provides a relaxing environment for massages, facials and body treatments. They also have a full service salon.
The restaurants

Things to know before you go:
– Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa is a bit of a bargain within swank Wailea. Wailea is the most expensive resort area in all of Hawaii. I would estimate that daily rate at other resorts is at least 33% more than Wailea Beach Marriott Resort. See this link for their specials and also check rates with the online travel agencies like Expedia.com, Travelocity.com, Orbitz.com, etc.
– The $30 resort fee includes self-parking, phone calls, many resort discounts and other services that you can review at this link.

Your website and your immense knowledge is so insightful! Thanks for doing this. We are trying to decide between Wailea Beach Marriott and Sheraton In Kaanapali area. You have great reviews for both and am quite confused. Wailea's best attraction for us is the infinity pool but sheraton is very close to whaler's village, Lahaina town & other attractions. Commuting daily from south seems like an ordeal considering am pregnant and may want to take it easy. I know both south & west are great. But if you had to pick, which one would you? Please let me know. I would greatly appreciate if I can hear from you at the earliest. Need to book soon since we are scheduled to leave on 25th sep.
Could you also recommend a hotel in Hana. Just for an overnight stay.

You can't make a bad choice between those options.
Wailea had the Shops at Wailea, which is somewhat similar to Whalers Village, but with higher end stores. They have free entertainment on Wednesday evenings. The Shops at Wailea are right beside of the Marriott.
Both areas have good dining within walking distance.
There's only one hotel in Hana -- Travaasa Hana https://www.govisithawaii.com/2011/09/29/experiencing-travaasa-hana/ They have an all-inclusive and an "a la carte" option for your stay.
Could you tell me where the closest beach is from the Marriott and how long it takes to get there? is it crowded and more of a public beach vs. a private like some to the other resorts like the Grand Wailea? Also, would you highly recommend a stay at the Hana hotel? we will have two 17 yr olds with us and want to make sure we stay with things for them to do.
Stacy - one of the easiest ways to see how close the beaches are to the Marriott is to go to Google Maps and look at the earth/satellite view. The resort is situated between two beaches - one is shared with the Grand Wailea and the other is shared with a condo resort.
All beaches in Hawaii are public beaches.
Just my opinion, but I tend to think that the hotel in Hana appeals more to adults who are seeking peace and relaxation.
