Interesting view on the map. I knew Hawaii was further south than most of the mainland, but I had thought it was a lot farther south than is shown here. I guess that must be my biased from living all the way up near 42*N latitude in Chicago.
Kris - I'm with you, I expected it to be much further south. Now I'm wondering how accurate that map is. I'm guessing it's close but not 100% accurate.

It is because the eart is round -- compare the latitude lines of Florida and Hawaii - it is much further south than it looks.
