It seems journalists, and I assume many bloggers, need a little refresher on Hawaiian culture. The Hawaii Tourism Authority has decided to offer help with a 20-page guide to Hawaiian culture
.The new ”Style & Resource Guide” corrects common mistakes for those who promote or write about Hawaii. The 20-page guide is partly a response to concerns that the tourism industry isn’t sensitive enough to cultural issues, said Frank Haas, marketing director of the agency. ”A lot of stuff that’s done poorly or is insensitive isn’t done on purpose, it’s just that people don’t know better,” he said.
I wonder if it has the correct spelling of Humuhumunukunukuapuaa.
