Here are some great deals I dug up today.  If you find a really good one, would you consider taking me along?  ;-)

Oahu, Kauai, Maui, Big Island Orbitz Sale
The Deal:  Save 10% or more
Why I like this deal: This sale covers all budgets from 2-star to 5-star hotels.  I was particularly drawn to the 5-star Mauna Lani on the Big Island at a nightly rate of $266 including buffet breakfast for two.  I’ve stayed here and it’s a nice hotel in a wonderful location.
Offer Valid Through:  Book by July 6th for travel by September 30th (2008)
Special Rate Code: SUMMERSALE10
For More Information: See this link to Orbitz

$438 Hawaii September Weekend Getaway
The Deal:  Four nights accommodation and airfare for $438 purchased through Expedia.
Why I like this deal:  It includes airfare!  The catch is you must fly from Los Angeles (LAX), if LAX is not your normal departure airport, consider buying separate roundtrip airfare from your home to LAX.
Offer Valid Through:  It’s valid for September weekend stays only.  You must depart on Thursday and return on Monday.
Special Rate Code:  NA
For More Information:  See this link.

I love this deal from ResortQuest Waikiki Beach Hotel! The resort is ideally located right across from Waikiki Beach. Here’s the skinny on the deal:

The Deal: The nightly rate of $129 is 50% off, plus you get free daily breakfast.
Why I like this deal: The hotel has recently been renovated and the location is ideal. You can upgrade to an ocean view room for only $20 more. The deal also includes 2 for 1 luau offer and coupon book.
Offer Valid Through: From now - June 4; September 4 - December 9; December 15 - December 23 (2008). You must book by April 25th.
Special Code: 5050
For More Information: Call 1-888-311-5050. Also, take a peek at the TripAdvisor reviews. I really like how the manager interacts with the reviewers.

imageThe Hawaii Entertainment Book is a book of coupons for restaurants, luaus, golf, shopping and more. The 2008 books are currently on sale at $15 which is a $10 savings, plus shipping is free.

I noticed that the book has several 25% discount coupons for luaus. The coupons aren’t for “no name” luaus either. In Oahu, for example I see 25% coupons for two very popular luaus, Paradise Cove and Germaine’s. The book could very quickly pay for itself on a luau coupon alone.

Here’s a secret hint I recently picked up - you can get a free trial with three free coupons. So, a few days before you go on your vacation, go get the free trial. You’ll need to enter the zip code of your destination to get started.

Have you used the Hawaii Entertainment Books on your vacation? Did you think it was worth the price? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Make plans to go to Outrigger Waikiki or Outrigger Reef around Valentines week and you can take part in a free Hawaiian vow renewal ceremony.

The vow renewal ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, February 14th on Waikiki Beach near the Outrigger Reef hotel.  The offer is open to registered guests only and you do need to make advanced reservations Sign up for the ceremony begins January 14th.  For those holding confirmed reservations, contact the concierge desks to reserve your spot.  The numbers are 808-923-0711 at the Outrigger Waikiki, or 808-923-3111 at the Outrigger Reef.

Here’s how the ceremony is described:

OUTReef_VowRenewOutrigger’s Hawaiian Vow Renewal Ceremony draws upon an ancient Hawaiian custom, Ho’ao Pa’a, in which a man and woman were bound in lasting union. The event will begin with the blowing of the conch shell, followed by a welcoming Hawaiian chant by the kahu (priest), traditional hula and song. Couples will also be blessed by a gentle sprinkling of sea water before they recite their vows in the Hawaiian language.

In addition, each participating couple will receive a complimentary photo, commemorative certificate by which to remember the day, champagne toast and island-style lei (garlands).

Doesn’t it sound romantic?

imageIf you have ever been to Waikiki Beach, you probably know that finding a parking space that doesn’t cost a fortune can be quite a challenge and frustrating. If you will be needing a parking space in Waikiki, you’ll find this map to be extremely useful. The map indicates where public parking is available, the rates, and how to get reasonable rates. The map even indicates where you can find free parking.
