* Aqua Contiental in Waikiki Beach is now accepting reservations for pet dogs less than 20lbs. To bring Fido, you’ll have to pay a $25 per night fee plus a $100 (refundable) deposit. For requirements for bringing your pet to Hawaii, see this link. (I know a couple of incredibly good-looking Dachshunds, Bonnie and Reno, who would definitely enjoy riding the Waikiki waves. They’re my parent’s dogs that have me wrapped around their paws. 🙂 )

* The Fairmont Orchid on Hawaii’s Big Island is offering a special deal of two rooms for the price of one. This deal would work great for families or for  traveling with friends. The special promotion is valid only on new reservations booked through December 20, 2009. Rates start at $449 per night. No minimum stay required and guests need not be family members to enjoy this offer. You cannot combine this offer with any other promotion. For more information, contact your preferred travel professional or call at 800-845-9905 and ask for the “Two For One” promotion.

* Do you have a photo from your Hawaii vacations that impresses your friends and family? Why don’t you submit it to the Hawai’i Magazine photo contest and be entered to win a free trip to Hawaii?

* A new night show at the Polynesian Cultural Center is due to premiere this summer. It’s call Ha: Breath of Life. If it’s as good as their long running Horizons: Where the Sea Meets the Sky it’s going to be tremendous. (See my review of Horizons evening show at the Polynesian Cultural Center. I loved it!)
