General Hawaii

Today’s Hawaii in contrast photos takes a look at black and white sand beaches. First let’s look at a black sand beach. We shot the following photo on Pololu Black Sand Beach on the Big Island after hiking down the steep Pololu Trail.

This next photo shows the soft white sand of Lanikai Beach on Oahu.

Great idea to show the contrast. Both of the photos are beautiful but I must say I prefer white sand beaches.

Hi Erica – if you like white sand beaches, you’d love Lanikai Beach. The sand not only white, but it is powdery soft.
