They even have an image, just in case you’re not sure what they mean by drink! LOL!
I was just about to a nice refreshing drink when, whoa, I saw the sign. Thankfully I was warned in time. 😉
Yuh well, you know that they wouldn’t have to put up the signs unless someone had already did the deed or thought about it really hard!
@Lori – that’s part of the reason why I’m laughing. People must get really thirsty at 10,000′ – maybe the lack of oxygen causes them to mistake the toilet bowl for the water fountain! 😉
Good one… But maybe they mean do not drink from any source including the tap – hope you didn’t 😉
@Charan – I did not drink from it. 🙂 The funny thing is that the sign was only over the toilet. I do believe that was the first time I’ve ever taken a photo in a toilet cubical.
Shaggy Dog Syndrome?? Is there such a thing at 10,000′? LOL
Maybe if it were in the desert with no other water source, someone might be desperate enough for a drink to consider this. But on a tropical paradise type island …. I’m with prior commenter Lori–someone caused them to make this sign to warn others. Probably the same people who need to be told not to eat urinal cakes!
@Orlando – urinal cakes? You’re not talking about those blue mouth wash tablets they provide at each urinal are you? 😉
Oh no Andy those are breath fresheners!!! Aren’t they? Those are used to get the taste OUT of your mouth after you drink the water from the toilet!!
lol! Unbelievable.
Reminds me of the fail blog… here’s a fave from today:
http://failblog.org/2009/04/23/obvious-walk-sign-fail/
this sign would be a shoe in over there, though I don’t believe they often cite their sources…
It would be a lot more helpful if they would post a second sign with directions to the nearest toilet that we can drink from.
This is as good as your “Invisible Cows” sign from a while back…
Too funny! I actually recently took my first photo in a bathroom stall too for a VERY SIMILAR sign in the speed-skating facility just built for the upcoming 2010 Vancouver Olympics! Certainly made me wonder who we are expecting to attend if they must be told not to drink from the toilet!?!
Problem solved! – For everyone who was disappointed that they couldn’t drink from that toilet… I found a toilet that you CAN drink from. Enjoy! http://tinyurl.com/c2hdxj
@ Dave – what a relief to find some drinkable toilet water 😉
Oh shoots, I better stop bottling that water before we go on our hikes…
