Photo: Fancy Sand Castle on Waikiki Beach

Waikiki Beach Sand Castle

As we were walking along Waikiki Beach near sunset, we had to stop to admire this impressive sand castle. That’s the castle artist in the orange T-shirt. What do you think? Pretty talented, eh?

  1. Wow, that is pretty sweet. Reminds me of those Sandblasters contest that they have on the Travel Channel every now and then.

We saw a few guys building a long alligator (or crocodile, I don’t know) on Ka’anapali Beach right out front of Whalers Village one year. It wasn’t exactly finished when we walked past, and I don’t think I grabbed a photo of it (shame on me). They were really serious about it, too. They had those spray containers for water and all sorts of little instruments they were using for detailing. I definitely wasn’t as elaborate as this one, though.

  2. Hi Kris – we were impressed with this guy’s imagination.

So, I wonder if the sand reptile from Kaanapali would have been named, Krokodile Kaanapali. 😉 Happy Aloha Friday!!

  3. @ Liza – I hope you’ll post photos of the sand castles that you and your kids make on your blog. Have fun!
