Oh, and I don't think there's many if any who are upset that there's no direct flights from HNL to RDU. The rooms are spacious - with Hawaiian flavor ! We liked the Shore Bird restaurant with its "grill your own meat or fish" : very fun !! and the entertainment they offer on Fridays !!! They offer a rich "cultural" program - such as FREE lei making, hula lessons and hukulele classes . We two partecipate in the Vows Renewal on the Beach ( at 7.45 in the morning ,when sun come "out" down Diamond Head and the sand is so soft) and it was the highlight of our vacation. We've been loyal to the Sheraton for all these years, but we did consider the Westin as an option for our upcoming trip. I tend to agree on your choice about the location, though. Black Rock is such a neat sight to see, and having only one resort next to you instead of one on each side like the Westin has makes for a slightly quieter stay and a lot less foot traffic nearby. As for the airline idea, I wonder if there are as many people in Honolulu that are as bummed that there are no direct flights from HNL to RDU. :) The Westin or the Sheraton in Ka’anapali, that’s a pretty tough choice. I'm going to create an airline called "Southeast Airlines" and we will fly direct from RDU to HNL with routing through Mexico, so we avoid even flying over the north west.
