Hawaii Vacation News Roundup for April 23rd

Posted on Wed, Apr 23, 2008 by Sheila

General Hawaii

  • Hawaii Volcanoes National Park has just closed again for the second time this month due to excessively high sulfur dioxide levels.  Let’s hope this closure is short-lived like the past two day closure.  For updates see the official website.  KGMB has breaking news on the closure as well.
  • This Just In advises that you should book your airfare now.  That’s probably good advice.  I’ve recently been looking at airfare to Oahu and rates are anywhere between 10% – 20% higher than what we’ve paid in the past.
  • If you’ve not taken a look at the island guides in a while, you should check them out.  I’ve updated them with more information and gave them a good Spring cleaning.  The dust bunnies are gone now. :-) The island guides are good starting points if you are planning a vacation.  Here are links directly to the guides:  Oahu Guide, Maui Guide, Kauai Guide, Big Island Guide
