Great interview, great photos, and great advice.

I recently started taking a digital photography class, and I'm sure I will be hearing many of these same tips and concepts. I do echo Joe's comments about Flickr, it is amazing and very exciting to see so many average, every day Hawaii vacationers out there taking and uploading great photos from all over the islands. I continue to be inspired on a regular basis when browsing Flickr and finding ideas for taking my own photos and exploring places we haven't been to yet.

The other part of Joe's advice that I think stands very true is how much these photographs bring back the emotion (the Aloha, if you will) of not only being on vacation, but being in Hawaii. I think for me, having a few good photos on your desk at the office or on the wall in your den ignites more memories and emotions than even videos taken on vacation. Better yet, you get one of those digital photo frames and you have the best of both worlds.

Mahalo Joe and Sheila.
