I can’t believe it’s March already, can you?  Let’s take a look at what news March brings us.

  • The seventh Carnival of Aloha is alive and kicking at Homespun Honolulu.  This month’s edition covers everything from insects to politics.  What an eclectic mix!
  • You’ve got to see this photo of a humpback whale breaching just feet away from kayakers off the coast of Maui.  I have to say the skeptic in me wonders if the photo is real or not.  The link I posted is from the UK’s Telegraph which is not normally the kind of paper to publish doctored tabloid-like photos.  Do you think it’s real?

I’m pretty sure that photo is real. I would be worried about being in such a flimsy craft! Yikes! I love the idea of being that close, but… that might hurt if a fin came down on your head!

Oh that would be super scary, Evelyn. I would definitely freak out! :)

Here’s another whale vs kayak photo supposedly taken off Maui.

Kayak is a different color than in the photo above so it’s another occasion. Me thinks somethings not right here.

Hi David….hmmm….that Metro photo does look a bit unreal, doesn’t it? You know what’s strange is I’ve only seen UK pick up those photos and report on them. Hmmm….makes me wonder.
