According to this video, Waikiki Beach is the best place in Hawaii to learn how to surf. I recently spoke to a friend who just learned how to surf at Waikiki Beach and she just raved over how great it was. So, if you are going to Oahu and you’ve had a lifelong dream of learning to surf, take a look at this brief video to whet your appetite.

I agree. The waves are usually not very big and there are a lot more visitors than locals out there. You’ll be learning along with everyone else.
Hi Kailani. Good point about learning along with other visitors. It seems like a less intimidating area to give surfing a try. Plus there are several instructors to hire to teach you how. I’ve only admired the Waikiki surfing from Dukes. One of these days I’m going to have to get my nerve up to try it.
It’s also one of the most fun places to learn to surf.
Hi Emma. Thanks for your comment. The scenery is quite nice as well. I never get tired of seeing Diamond Head.
