Charity Link Meme

Skitzzo has started a new meme to share link-love with worthwhile non-profits.  I’ve been tagged for the first time ever by Andy Beal at  Marketing Pilgrim

Here are the rules:

Copy the list of charities and links from whomever tags you and add your 5 favorite charities or non-profit organizations to the end.  Link to the charities’ sites with anchor text of the causes they champion. Of course finish things off by tagging 5 other webmasters/bloggers and then publishing the post or the webpage.

Though this effort is not strickly Hawaii focused, Hawaiians and visitors to the islands definitely benefit from the favorite charities I’m listing.

  1. National Parks Foundation – support America’s National Parks  (Hawaii has many National Parks with the most visited being Hawaii Volcanoes National Park)
  2. USO – serving our military service members ( There is a USO Center in Hawaii at the Honolulu Airport)
  3. K Love Radio –listener supported Christian radio  (Hawaii stations are 89.3 in Hilo on the Big Island and 90.7 in Honolulu on Oahu)
  4. Samaritan’s Purse – emergency relief programs
  5. March of Dimes – birth defect research

Here are Andy Beal’s five non-profit/charity links:

  1. American Red Cross – disaster relief
  2. Raleigh Rescue Mission – homeless raleigh
  3. SOS Children’s Villages – sponsor a child
  4. Samaritan’s Purse – emergency relief programs
  5. St. Jude Children’s Hospital – cancer research

Now, the toughest part is determining who to tag.  As, I’m relatively new to the blogosphere, I’m going to have to tag virtual strangers.  So, I’m tagging 5 bloggers whose blogs I follow, enjoy and admire.  I hope that the following will participate:

  1. Darren Rowse at www.problogger.net
  2. Kuanyin at http://waileadailyphoto.blogspot.com/
  3. Blessed1 at http://blessed1.wordpress.com/
  4. Matt at http://www.wildbluffmedia.com/
  5. Sightseer at http://gosightsee.blogspot.com/

  1. Thanks so much! I look forward to seeing your list.

Oh and that recipe looks very good. It looks like it would be good to bring on picnics or tailgates.
