According to this article, occupancy rates are down in Kauai, Maui, and Oahu, but up on the Big Island. Could this be a good time to visit Hawaii and avoid large crowds?

Back in Novemeber, we reported about the new Superferry service between Maui, Kauai, and Oahu. As you may have heard, there were some potential environmental studies (EIS) that could have placed a stumbling block on launching the service. Zagat released their 2007/2008 Guide to America’s Top Golf Courses today. Zagat surveyed more that 6,250 avid golfers who played more than 560,000 rounds in the past 12 months. Volcanoes National Park was the most visited with 1.6 million visitors last year. This was a slight decline from 2005. In second place, was the USS Arizona in Pearl Harbor at 1.5 million visitors. Maui’s Haleakala was in thrid with 1.4 million visitors. From experience, I can say that all these parks are truly spectacular.
